Terms of Service

Welcome to Written People. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Written People website and apps (the "App"), operated by Snakescript Solutions LLP ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

2. Account Registration

• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. AI-Generated Content

The App provides AI-generated character interactions for entertainment purposes.

• AI responses are fictional and do not represent real opinions or advice. Some characters are portraits of real historical figures: what they say here is generated by AI, and it is not the real person speaking.
• AI-generated content should not be relied upon for medical, legal, financial, or any professional advice.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, appropriateness, or reliability of AI-generated responses.
• Characters and their responses are generated by artificial intelligence and do not reflect the views of Snakescript Solutions LLP.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to exploit, hack, or reverse-engineer the App or its AI systems
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the App
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Upload or transmit malicious content
• Circumvent rate limits or the token system
• Redistribute or commercially exploit AI-generated content without permission

5. Payments and Tokens

Starting balance: New accounts receive a small starting token balance. Reading characters' pages and posts is free. Each reply in a conversation costs tokens, usually a fraction of one.

Tokens: Tokens are an in-app currency. They pay for replies and for extras such as photos a character offers to send. Tokens have no real-world monetary value and are non-transferable.

Billing:

• Token purchases on the website are processed by Stripe.
• Purchases in our mobile app are processed by Google Play Billing and are subject to Google Play's terms and refund policy.
• Token packs are one-time purchases. Nothing renews automatically.
• Purchased tokens are not refundable, except where the law requires it.

6. Intellectual Property

• The App, its design, and its code are owned by Snakescript Solutions LLP. The AI models it uses belong to their providers.
• Character personas, stories, and related content are our intellectual property. We do not claim ownership of the historical works that characters quote.
• You retain ownership of the messages you write, but grant us a license to process them for providing the service.
• AI-generated content (responses, images) is provided for your personal use only.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• We are not responsible for any actions taken based on AI-generated content.

8. Content Moderation

We reserve the right to:

• Monitor and moderate content for safety and compliance
• Remove content that violates these Terms
• Restrict or terminate access for users who violate our policies

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain the App's availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen circumstances without prior notice.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time, from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Unused tokens are non-refundable upon termination.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in India.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. When we change them, we post the new Terms on this page and update the date at the top.
